Child Ministry

At the Pikeville Church of Christ, we love our children and we offer various activities for different age groups. We stress the education of a Christian curriculum yet we want our children to have fun at church and with each other. Below are a few of the activities that are offered to our children either on a weekly or bi-weekly basis:

Sunday School

Each Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m., children are welcome and invited to attend our Sunday School Program. Four classes are offered depending upon the age of the child. Ask a Welcome Attendant when you arrive where your child should go.

K.I.D.S. Church

Our "K.I.D.S. Church: Kids In Divine Service" occurs during Sunday morning worship and is a place where children ages preschool through sixth grades can come to worship the Lord on a level that is conducive to their age and learning level. K.I.D.S. Church begins promptly at 11 a.m., at the same time as adult services upstairs.

During the first 20 minutes, they have a worship service: a time of singing and praise to the Lord as well as a communion service and offering time. The children are taught about communion each week, what it means, and why the Christians take communion each week. Following the worship service, the children break into three groups to go to their lesson time: Group 1: Preschool; Group 2: 1-3 Grades; and Group 3: 4 - 6 Grades. During their lesson time, the children are taught a wonderful lesson, appropriate to their age.

A.S.K. (After School Kamp)

A.S.K., which stands for After School Kamp, is open to children in 4th through 6th grades and is held each Thursday from 3:15 - 5:15 PM at the church. The program began several years ago, and as many as 70 children have attended. The program consists of an after-school snack, fun and exciting games, a Bible lesson, and music and drama time.

A.S.K. is truly an outstanding, one-of-a-kind program that welcomes children from both within and outside of our church. We hope to see your 4th thru 6th grader on Thursday at After School Kamp.
